Mood: Festive CANDYYYYY!!!
Listening to: Enigma - Snow on the Sahara
Reading: Grow a COP - Just add water
Watching: DOOOOMMMMMM

The time has come. What I've been waiting for/hoping for/excited to finally see that there truly is one. Neopets released the plush of the baby aisha. I love the aisha, and I have almost all of the plushies except for the red devil and disco discontinued versions. I'm going to the mall to get mine tomorrow :excited: :excited: SO CUTEEEE! :giggle: :excited:

My scanner is not working. The bulb still works and it turns on, but my computer won't recognize it. It says that it's not found and I've reinstalled the driver several times. I have been scanning my last two pictures in at work. The 2nd is Oeshar's commission of which I am currently coloring at the moment.
I don't know if I'm going to get a new one now, or wait until Christmas.
I've been really relaxed with my spending the last few months by commissioning people, splurging on too many things I want, on birthdays and also just giving my money away.
I'm getting really fed up with one of my cats, Sassy. She is 2 years old and I rescued her during college from a parking lot. Sarah was there when I brought her home. I think I made a mistake in taking her in because......she's just a bad pet. She's always afraid of me, takes everything as an attack towards her, she runs EVERYTIME I come towards her, past her, LOOK at her, or go into the same room. She does not like to be petted and will scratch the hell outta you if you touch her. She doesn't like to play and she has a very bad temperment. Sometimes I'm so angry I want to grab her and throw her out the front door to fend for herself for the winter because she doesn't deserve to be in this house when she hurts me, hurts my other cats and scratches my grandma. She shadows and favors my grandma but I've seen the big cuts on her. She's frail as it is. This cat has pissed all over the house since I brought her here, she pissed on 1/4th of my wardrobe that has been washed 3 times and still smells like piss and remains packed away in the basement. She's a beautiful cat, and I keep my anger in check.....but I really regret ever laying eyes on that demon.

I know that the TAGGED thing has been rampant across DA, and I haven't been tagged soooooo I shall tag myself and tell you 20 things about myself even thought no one wants to read them *cracks knuckles* ^__^

1. I was named after Hurricane Alicia when I was born. If you don't believe me, look at my room ^^;
[link]
2. I have a habit of smelling my pencils right after I sharpen them. I love the smell of freshly sharpened pencils :P
3. I don't remember what age I was, but many many years ago my brother, mom, grandma and myself were at a park in the summer. My mom left us with my grandma to get coffee for the both of them. My brother ran towards her as she was coming back with the drinks to help when I decided to go to and bolted towards her. I ended up bumping into her and both cups spilled onto my shoulders and chest, melting my skin instantly. I remember the pain and screaming as my mom pulled my shirt off in a nearby restroom/out-house only to see my skin coming off to the touch. I went into shock as I was rushed to the hospital, and I remember having cold water poured onto me repeatidly to ease the sting. My mom had to put cold creme on me for several weeks. I do not have any scars or indication of it happening but everytime I smell cold creme I think of that "memory".
4. I absolutely HATE the song "Bennie and the Jets" by Elton John. The entire song sucks, and I can't stand the high pitched BENNIE -B-B-BENNIE! >__<
5. I'm afraid of the dark. I always sleep with my tv on or atleast a lamp. I cannot sleep in a pitch-black room or walk down a hall towards a dark room, and I hate it when the power goes off when I don't expect it. I always keep a flashlight and candles at the ready.
6. I cannot tell you the measurements on a ruler other than the inch, half and quarter in marks. *embarrassed* XD
7. I failed physics during senior year within 3 months.
8. I have a long dental history. I used to have 2 rows of teeth on the bottom, overcrowding, a smaller upper jaw that required the installation of an "expander". It was a metal plate that rested against the roof of my mouth, cemented to my four back molars. Everyday my mom would have to turn a key in it that would gradually push my jaw outwards for about 2 years until my bite lined up correctly. When it was time for the expander to come off, my molars came out with it because they were stuck inside the metal rings that were used to keep the plate in place. I also had braces for three years, and two of my wisdom teeth removed. To top it off, I dislike dentists and doctors >___<
9. I hate to have a finger inside my belly button. I can't stand the feeling of a finger in there.
10. I used to steal money from my grandma and then lie to my mom and told her I found it so that I could get new barbie dolls. >__<
11. I threw a snow ball at a boy and hit him in the face because he hit my car with one as I drove by during college.
12. I wrote my mom a letter when I was a little girl and told her I didn't like any of the presents she got me for christmas even though she stayed up late to wrap everything, and was a single parent and worked hard to get me anything at all.
13. I had two pieces of artwork stolen from me during high school. One was a big pastel work of The Predator and the other a pen and colored pencil drawing of Guyver47. I kept them in an oversized cardboard folder in art class, and realized they weren't there one day. The teacher said she wasn't responsible for it and no one has come forward. I don't know who stole it, but I'd gladly cut their fingers off.
14. I do not like to eat fruit. Everytime I get fruit, there is a bug in it, or bugs attack it before I can eat it, and I don't like the texture of fruit when I bite into it or the burst of juice inside. I like tomatoes and bananas but I will not eat any other type of fruit. I do not like pie, yogurt with fruit in it, fruit salad, cups of fruit, jello with fruit in it, or basically anything with fruit in it.
15. I have only ridden a horse once in my life. It was when I used to go to church and they organized a visit to a farm. I didn't want to tap the horse's sides to make it walk because I couldn't bring myself to kick a horse. I wouldn't hear anything of it from anyone else that it doesn't hurt the horse and I was too afraid to "take control" of the reins. I guess I'm slightly afraid of horses, but they are beautiful animals.
16. I love the sound of horse hooves. I love that clippity clop noise when they walk, or trot and the thud as they gallop.
17. I like to eat raw bacon.
18. I ate an entire tub of vasoline as a child.
19. I still love the Power Rangers!
20. I cannot stand people that have lisps. If someone does a whistling sound or sound like daffy duck when talking, I want to put tape over their mouth. @__@
An example, the infomercial for the "Drill Doctor"......argh, make him stop talking.

I shall tag.........

Go! Tell me 20 things about yourself!

We're dressing up for halloween at work on Monday. Not sure what to wear >__> I can't really fit into some of my previous costumes and I didn't want to buy anything this year. I have bits and pieces to wear but no real "theme". It's going to be hard driving to work with my tail on and those big knee boots XD
I still have to cut my pumpkin up. I've been so.....unmotivated. :S
Anyone see the commercials for Rachet (Racket (?) ) Deadlocked? They're funny XD and I want those costumes *grins* *smack*
Man....I really feel bad about some of the 20 things I said above. I can't believe I was like that as a child, but I'm also glad I've changed as I got older. I really still feel guilty about stealing from my grandma and writing that letter to my mom. :sniff: :S

I have a doberman avatar on Second Life now :D I love it, it looks close to D4, except I have to fix her markings and she has hair. I can't upload a picture because I can't upload anything to my planetfurry space :/

time for bed :)

(Updated October 29th, 2009)

:bulletblue:What is a commission?
A commission is artwork done in exchange for payment, such as for money or by having the commissioner purchase an item on a wishlist with the same value as the commission.

:bulletblue:What is an art trade?
An art trade or art exchange is when two artists draw a picture for one another containing the subject matter they have provided to one another. No money is involved.

:bulletblue:What is a request?
A request is artwork done for free
by an artist for an individual. There is no payment involved with request art and is generally done when an artist has spare time or needs to overcome an art block.

:bulletblue:What is a collaboration?
A collab is when one or more artists combine their skills into an image. The most common type of collab is when an artist colors the lineart/sketch of another artist with their permission.

:bulletblue:What species is Guyver47 anyway?
Guyver47 (as a furry) is a grey wolf-lynx-caracal hybrid with unnatural tiger stripes, vivid teal hair and blue cat eyes. She can shape-shift, has psychic/telekinetic powers. She has Guyver armor in this furry form.

Guyver47 (non-furry) is "Neptunian" (from Neptune - my favorite planet) and resembles a human with elven ears. She retains her bluish teal hair, black stripes and eye color no matter what. This is her primary form and is host to her Guyver armor.

:bulletblue:What is a Guyver?
The Guyver is an Anime series created by Yoshiki Takaya. I have been following the series since 1995 with Guyver III as my favorite character. There are two live action movies as well and the Anime series has recently been re-released.

:bulletblue:Do you attend conventions?
Yes, I have been attending Anthrocon every year since 2004.
For information about Anthrocon, visit: [link]

I would like to make it to FurtherConfusion, FurFright and Memphit Furmeet sometime in the future.

:bulletblue:Why do you like furry/anthro art?
:bulletblue:When did you start drawing furries?

I love drawing animals and I think that anthropomorphic animals are pretty interesting. I simply enjoy drawing them more than vehicles, buildings and other non-organic objects.

I started drawing furry/anthro art in 2001 after I was shown the VCL website by a friend. [link]

I started doing freelance artwork commissions in 2004 and have sold my art once at Anthrocon as a Dealer in 2006. I feel that my art has come a long way since 2001 and am very thankful for everyone who is watching me here on Deviantart (and anywhere else on the Internet).

:bulletblue:Can I edit your pictures?
You may use my art as a desktop wallpaper and can crop images for icon/avatars. You may distribute, upload and share my work anywhere on the Internet, providing that I am tagged as the source artist and my copyright info is intact on the image.

Do NOT remove my watermark or copyright.
Do NOT sell prints of my artwork or use my art in any way that profits you.
Do NOT use my artwork on roleplaying websites or to represent your characters.
(If you need art of your character, commission me to create some for you.)

:bulletblue:Can I reference your art?
Yes, but do not copy/trace it exactly line for line and call it your own work. It would be great if you cited the reference image and provide a link to my gallery if you upload it online.

Do NOT trace my badges to create one for yourself or to sell as commissions.

:bulletblue:What is "art theft"?
Just about every artist has rules about what the public can do with their artwork. Art theft is a broad term for images that are either traced/copied, re-posted to websites or sold for profit without permission. Every artist is different, so it's probably best to ask them before you use their art.

Tracing/heavy referencing is when you draw over another artist's image to create an exact replica with very minor changes, if any.
Proof of tracing can be detected when an overlay of the two images is created to compare matching areas.

"Copying by eye" is when you look at a drawing and create an exact replica without tracing it directly.

Re-posting is when you upload artwork that is not yours to websites where the source artist has not uploaded the images. Some artists do not want their artwork redistributed or to appear anywhere they haven't uploaded to themselves, so it's best to find out if they have a "Do not post" order or not.

Selling for profit is when you gain something from the sale of their work, be it for money or an item of value. You can get into a lot of legal trouble by selling another artist's work without their permission. If the image is not royalty free, then do not sell it.

Referencing is not art theft if you have permission to use the image as a reference. Stock photography is an example of reference material.
Artists really appreciate you asking first and it's very respectful to include a link to their website if you upload your drawing to the Internet. Some artists may have conditions when it comes to referencing their art, so it's best to ask anyways.

:bulletblue:Where did you go to school/college?
I attended Pittsburgh Technical Institute and obtained an Associate Degree in Graphic Design, graduating in 2004.

:bulletblue:Are there any artists that inspire you?
Oh yes! To name a few:

:iconrage1986: Rage
I've had the pleasure of knowing Eva since our days of working together as volunteers at Planetavp.com back in 2000. Our interest in Aliens and Predators brought us together. With every new art piece she creates, I can see her improvements and can't help to be wowed. She is very skilled with colored pencils but has now evolved to include digital media as well. I highly recommend commissioning her.

:iconcarnagefiend: James
I could spend hours looking over his work. The amount of detail he puts into all of his drawings is fantastic. He introduced me to Silent Hill and encouraged me to keep drawing Guyver47. He is very skilled at drawing beasts, monsters and gore, as well as sensual Anime babes.

Jim Balent
Website [link]
He was the artist who penciled the Catwoman comics in the 1990's.
I fell in love with the way he drew the female body and captured Catwoman's spirit. I collected these comics but stopped after he no longer illustrated the series.

:iconjayaxer: J. Axer
Axer is a Painter God. I've never seen anyone render the shading of fur and fabrics like he does. He can draw non-organic objects VERY well, such as guns, buildings and vehicles.
What I love the most about his work is the amount of detail, accuracy with anatomy, color application and the pride he has in his work. It won't take much persuasion on his behalf for me to buy his art wares.

:iconsilverbobcat: Silverbobcat
After seeing her art in 2004, I've been smitten with her artistic talent ever since. I adore her creativity when it comes to image layout and use of light and shadows. She tackles action poses flawlessly and isn't afraid to tackle dynamic perspective. Her digital coloring looks professional and I love the way she uses colors.

:iconhuskie666: Huskie
Huskie was one of the first artists I came across in 2001 when I first entered the "furry fandom". I love the way she draws facial expressions, hands, teeth and poses. She's very creative and I love how she colors fur textures. She's very talented with traditional media.

:iconshinigamigirl: Shinigamigirl
I can't quite remember the exact time period that I found Shin's work, but since then, I always look forward to catching her uploads. She draws equines and canines in a very elegant fashion. I like how shapely her drawing style is, as well as how she draws hooves and wings. She is also talented with both traditional and digital mediums.

:iconhibbary: Hibbary
Hibbary is very talented with both digital and traditional media. I love the way that she draws and brings characters to life through color. She can draw both male and female anatomy flawlessly, as well as a variety of animals and fantasy creatures. So far, I've only been able to purchase a convention badge from her, but I hope to own a digital commission of Guyver47 in the future.

:iconshadowraine: Shadowraine
Her coloring quality and drawing style are what keeps me coming back to her gallery to see more and more. I love the way she pays attention to detail and her work is very professional. I enjoy the way she colors and adds details to anthro subjects, such as fur and other textures. I'm very fond of her couples art and how she gives females such shapely hips.
I recommend commissioning her because her work is quality and completed in a very timely manner.

:iconshadow-wolf: Wolf Nymph
Wolf Nymph was another artist I found as I became more involved with drawing anthro art. I really admire her work, especially the way she colors with both watercolor and colored pencils. She has a unique style and I cannot resist her beautiful color usage. I can't help to adore the way she draws wings and colors fur.

:iconbeastofoblivion: Allison Theus
I've never seen any art quite like Allison's. I love the way she draws "beastly" forms and she has a very vivid and vast imagination. She really knows how to draw anatomy and her sketches amaze me.

:iconevana: Evana
I found Evana just as she stopped posting her art online. I really couldn't resist looking at her art style. She is really skilled at coloring digitally and I love all of the details she puts into her artwork.

:icondomi-chan: Domi-chan (Dominorose)
I just had to commission her because of her lovely art style and fantastic digital coloring. She is very talented at drawing canine and feral characters, as well as anthro forms.
She is one of the most polite artists I have had the pleasure to purchase art from. I wouldn't think twice about ordering future commissions from her.

:iconorange04: Orange04
Orange04 has such an appealing drawing and coloring style, as well as unique design skill. She is very skilled with both traditional and digital coloring, as well as creating avatars on Second Life. Her art style is recognizable without even seeing her name.
She has also been very kind to me.

:bulletblue: Can I draw gift art for you?
Sure! I love getting gift art, but please keep it PG-13 or less.

Pin-ups are fine, but NO porn please.
If you think that your drawing idea is questionable, feel free to send a note/e-mail and ask.
